The Family Tree B.V. was founded in 2023 when 2 old school friends from horticultural school, Hans van Dam and Peter Buter, decided to follow their passion.
The Family Tree is driven by the mission to green the world, fight poverty and combat climate change.
We want to bring the world's fastest-growing tree (Paulownia) and Miscanthus (Elephant Grass) to where they are needed most. In addition to these fast-growing crops, with the Groasis Waterboxx and Growboxx (groasis.nl), we bring to the market a water-saving technology that has already proven itself in many countries over many years. Our aim is to plant trees in arid areas, promote Agroforestry and improve ecosystems, biodiversity, soil quality and soil life.
Since 2023, we have been working with Dealin.Green on the agricultural transition by stimulating the cultivation, processing and marketing of bio-based raw materials (fibre/wood).
Agriculture and animal husbandry have major challenges in terms of nature and environment. For farmers, these include nitrogen, CO2, water quality and biodiversity. And builders have to deal with ever-higher demands on the environmental performance of buildings. By working together smartly, we solve the challenges and create great opportunities: a new earnings model for farmers, sustainable materials for builders and a positive impact on the climate.
Furthermore, we are open to adding other products to our portfolio that fit into our philosophy and business activities.
Our goal is to plant 1 billion trees by 2035, helping restore ecosystems, combat climate change, and create sustainable communities worldwide.
Through innovative tree planting, we capture 40,000 kg of CO2 per hectare each year, reducing greenhouse gases and promoting a healthier climate.
